International Dentist Program IDPThis program is 3 years in duration and it grants a DDS degree to graduates. This program accepts only 4 students a year.
Requirements & Application Process:- Only open for US citizens or permanent residents.

After the initial review, the admissions committee invites a number of applicants to come meet with the committee, faculty, students, staff, and will be asked to complete a lab bench test.
Tuition is about $50,000 for the three years for NY residents, almost twice that amount for nonresidents. When you add up the tuition, educational expenses, and living expenses, the total estimated expenses for the three years is $110,245 for residents, and $160,021 for nonresidents.

College of Dental MedicineAdvanced Standing for Non-US Trained DoctorsThis is a 2.5 years program open to graduates of foreign dental schools.
Requirements & Application Process:Applications for admission are accepted between April 15 and May 31 only for a January enrollment. The application package must include:
- A
completed application form.
- A 1-2 page personal statement, providing information on academic background, career goals, reasons for seeking admission, and other personal qualifications.
- A non-refundable check or money order in the amount of $100, made payable to Columbia University.
- Course-by-course transcript evaluation from
WES or
ECE.
- Letters of recommendation from one faculty member and the academic dean of the original dental school, as well as one post-doctoral reference, if applicable.
- Official results of
NBDE part I.
- Official results from the
TOEFL, minimum of 600-paper, 250-CBT, or 100-iBT.

Personal interviews as well as the bench exam are by invitation only after the school reviews the applications, the exam involves conducting operative and prosthetic procedures on a mannequin.
