Dental License in Nevada for Foreign Trained Dentists

The Nevada dental board web site was not the easiest to navigate to find the needed information for foreign trained dentists licensure process, but after contacting the board directly it turned out that obtaining a dental license for a foreign trained dentist is very much similar to many other states.

Written Examination Requirements:

The applicant must successfully complete both parts of the National Board Dental examination written examination with a minimum average score of 75%

The applicant must pass a written jurisprudence examination on the contents and interpretation of NRS 631 and NAC 631

Educational Requirements:

The applicant must be a graduate of a dental school accredited by CODA, a two-year advanced standing or international program is accepted for this requirement as long as it awards a DDS or DMD.

Clinical Examination Requirements:

The applicant must present a certificate from WREB that indicate passing the WREB examination within the  5 years immediately preceding the date of the application.

Another clinical examination alternative is the ADLEX administered in the State of Nevada

Other Requirements:

The applicant must be a US citizen or lawfully entitled to remain and work in the US.
$1200 application fee ($1500 for the ADLEX Nevada exam option)
NPDB and HIPDB Self-Query results
CCBS or PBIS background check
